Complete health examination - Full body MRI + Heart examination + Colonoscopy

Heart attack, stroke and cancer currently account for approximately 56% of all deaths in Sweden.
Cancer, plaque formation and the buildup of dangerous fats in the blood vessels do not occur overnight, but develop over several years before symptoms appear.

Half of all people who die from heart attacks have never had any symptoms before.
Through examination with an ECG, ultrasound of the heart and blood analysis, atrial fibrillation, heart attack, rhythm disorders, valves, heart defects and elevated blood lipids/blood sugar levels can be detected, which indicate an increased risk of developing serious cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

With full-body MRI, 21 of the body's vital organs are visualized, from the brain down to the pelvis at the mm level and pathological changes such as cancer, stroke or inflammation can be detected in time.

Colorectal cancer is the fourth most common form of cancer in Sweden. Symptoms from the intestine are usually due to harmless causes, but if you are over 50 years old and have symptoms or an increased hereditary predisposition to colon cancer, it may be a sign of cancer.
The most common symptoms of colon cancer according to cancer foundation are:

  • Blood in the stool, changed bowel habits such as diarrhea, constipation or frequent bowel movements.
  • Heavy mucus production can also occur, as well as pain, sometimes like stabbing pains.
  • Feeling run down, anemia, fatigue and weight loss may be other symptoms.

En colonoscopy examination is the best method of examining the inside of the colon to detect early mucosal changes (polyps) and remove them painlessly, which can prevent the development of colon cancer. Colonoscopy can also diagnose intestinal pouches (diverticula), inflammation, ulcers or cancer by painlessly sampling suspicious areas during the examination.

Includes scanning of 24 organs as well as ECG and blood analysis

Why patients choose us

Information about Premium Package

What is an MRI scan?
  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI or MR) is a medical imaging technique for diagnostic purposes using a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) camera.
  • MRI involves taking images using magnetic fields and radio waves without any X-ray radiation, which makes it completely harmless.
  • The technology is used to detect diseases, map injuries and follow up treatments at the millimeter level in almost all human organs, such as tumors, inflammation, fractures, osteoarthritis, stroke and changes in blood vessels and bones.
This is how an MRI scan is done:
  • MRI examinations are performed at X-ray clinics. The images are first reviewed by a specialist in X-ray (radiologist). Prevcare's specialist doctor then reviews the results, writes a summary and recommendations. You review your results with a specialist doctor. If necessary, a referral is sent for further processing.
  • When you are examined with an MRI camera, you lie down on a bed that is moved into a so-called magnetic tunnel. There, you lie still while the images are taken. A nurse operates the camera from an adjacent room, and you can talk to the nurse at all times through a microphone and speaker.
  • After the MRI examination, you can leave the clinic immediately.
  • A full body MRI takes approximately 60 minutes.
Who is not suitable for MRI?
  • If you have electronic equipment implanted in your body, such as a pacemaker, insulin pump or cochlear implant, for example.
  • If you have had surgery on your head or heart and have metal clips implanted instead of stitches after surgery.
  • If you have metal splinters in your eye or other part of your body.
  • If you answered yes to any of the above, tell us so we and our doctor can look at what options are available.
  • Fixed dental fillings, dental implants, prostheses, hip-knee prostheses, and screws in the arms and legs are not an obstacle to an MRI examination.
How do I prepare for the examination?
  • Please state in your health form if you have had previous X-ray examinations. This is so that our doctors can assess your condition as accurately as possible.
  • It is important that you state if you have diabetes, kidney problems or other illnesses in your health form. This is so that our doctors can assess your condition as accurately as possible.
  • It is necessary to tell your doctor if you are pregnant. MRI is generally not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy. In such cases, the examination may be postponed until after the baby is born.
  • It is important that you tell us if you suffer from claustrophobia, or have a general feeling of discomfort in confined spaces. In this case, a discussion can be held with the responsible doctor regarding whether it is necessary to prescribe sedatives to make the examination as comfortable as possible. If you think that you are calmed by music, there is also, in some cases, the possibility of playing music during the examination for your comfort.
  • Also take the opportunity to leave all forms of jewelry and clothing that contain metal at home before you come for the examination.
  • Otherwise, it is good to discuss with the responsible specialist to see if there is anything above that cannot be fulfilled. At Prevcare, we are usually flexible regarding different solutions.
PSA test for men
  • For full-body MRI, men need to supplement with a PSA test, which is taken via blood test. Specialist doctors decide who needs to take a PSA test before the examination.
  • PSA stands for prostate-specific antigen and the test measures the amount of prostate-specific antigen in the blood. The test may indicate a tumor change, but the most common reason for the value to be elevated is benign reasons such as benign prostatic hyperplasia (prostate enlargement), urinary tract infection and acute/chronic prostatitis. By combining the PSA test with an MRI scan, the doctor gets a more reliable idea of whether there are signs of cancer in the prostate gland. Before taking a PSA test, please read 1177's brochure about PSA testing.
  • No preparation is required for a PSA blood test. When you arrive at the lab/clinic, you take a number and wait until your number is called. You only need to show your ID to the nurse before the test so she knows which blood sample is to be taken.
What is included in a heart examination?
  • Prevcare's heart examination includes a resting ECG, ultrasound of the heart and blood tests.
  • Before blood tests, you need to fast from midnight the night before (black coffee, tea or water is fine).
  • ECG + Ultrasound of the heart does not require any preparation.
  • ECG examination.
An ECG is a method of measuring the electrical activity of the heart. An ECG can detect disturbances in the heart's rhythm such as atrial fibrillation or arrhythmia, heart diseases such as heart failure or heart attack, and other abnormalities.
  • Ultrasound of the heart (echocardiography)
Echocardiography examines the size of the heart (atria and ventricles), the heart's movement and pumping function, the thickness of the heart muscle, and the function of the valves. No special preparation is required for an ECG and ultrasound of the heart.
  • Blood tests – blood fats, cholesterol and blood sugar:
    Triglycerides
    Cholesterol
    HDL
    LDL
    LDL/HDL ratio
    Apo A1
    Apo B
    Apo B/A1 ratio
    Hba1c
This is how a heart examination is done:

Resting ECG:

  • You will lie on your back with a total of 10 electrodes (small adhesive patches) placed on your chest, wrists and ankles. The electrodes capture and record the electrical activity of your heart.
  • The survey takes about 10 minutes.

Ultrasound heart:

  • The examination is performed with you lying on your left side. An ultrasound transducer is placed against your chest and sends out ultrasound waves that are reflected off different parts of the heart. The signal is converted into a moving image on the ultrasound machine's screen.
  • The survey takes about 30 minutes.
How to take blood samples during a Plus examination:
  • Before blood tests, you need to fast from midnight the night before (black coffee, tea or water is fine), and have the blood tests taken before 9:30 a.m. When you arrive at the lab/clinic, take a number and wait until your number is called. You only need to show your ID to the nurse before the test so they know which samples you need to take.
What is colonoscopy?
  • Colonoscopy is the examination of the large intestine using a narrow, flexible instrument called an endoscope. The endoscope documents the intestine with fiber optics that transmit the view of the inside of the intestine to a monitor. The doctor can examine the intestinal mucosa and also take tissue samples from it.
How a colonoscopy examination is done
  • Before the examination, you will be given ointment to numb the anus. You will then lie on a table while the doctor inserts the endoscope through your rectum.
  • You will be offered painkillers and relaxing medications before the procedure. You will be in constant contact with healthcare professionals.
  • An examination can take between 20 and 40 minutes.
Colonoscopy preparations
  • In your invitation you will receive detailed instructions on how to prepare for the examination. It is very important to follow these instructions, so that the bowel is clear of contents with the help of dietary advice and laxatives.
Things to consider during colonoscopy
  • After the examination, you may feel a little tense and bloated in your stomach due to air that has entered. The discomfort usually disappears when the air comes out.
  • You can eat and drink as usual after the examination. If you have been given sedative medication, you may remain in the clinic for up to an hour.
  • If you have been given sedative medication – keep in mind that you cannot drive until after a few hours.
